OPERATION
  • WARNING-Read all instructions before using.
    The Wonder-Lite® is different than any other radio or flashlight you have ever owned.
  • General
  • Before 1st use or After long term storage ~ Charge the Wonder-Lite® for 12 hours
    with AC/DC Adapter by following the AC/DC or Car Charging Instructions See POWER & CHARGING INSTRUCTIONS (See Below)
  • When finished using Wonder-Lite® always remember to:
    • Turn off radio by turning On/Off Volume Knob [figure 1 #3] to OFF (turn counter clock wise until you hear a click).
    • Then turn off the Light ON/OFF Push Button [figure 2 #7] to •LIGHT OFF (which is the further out position of the switch).

  • Lantern (Fluorescent Tube or Triple LED Light)
  • Slide Function Switch [figure 2 #5] to desired function.
    • Top position is 1•Fluorescent Tube [figure 5 #A] for fluorescent light.
    • Middle position is 2•Triple LED Light [figure 5 #B] for white LED light.
    • Bottom position is 3•CHARGE OUT [figure 5 #C] for charge out to other devices.
      See CHARGE OUT. (See Below)
  • Push Light ON/OFF Push Button [figure 2 #7] to ON by pushing in once, push again for OFF.

  • AM/FM Radio
  • Select band by pushing the Blink/Siren & AM/FM Band Switch [figure 1 #4].
  • Rotate the On/Off Volume Knob [figure 1 #3] to ON (clock wise until you hear a click). Then adjust to the desired volume level. To conserve power when not in use make sure the Wonder-Lite® is off (turn counter clock wise until you hear a click).
  • Rotate the Tuning Knob [figure 1 #2] to the desired station and adjust for best station reception (turn dial slowly).
  • For best FM reception, rotate the 360o Telescopic Swivel FM Antenna [figure 3 #14] and telescope out for best reception.
  • For best AM reception, rotate the Wonder-Lite® slowly.
  • To fine tune, re-adjust all items above (turn dials slowly).

  • Siren / Red LED Blinkers
  • For Red Blinker LED's, select BLINK/SIREN by sliding the Blink/Siren & AM/FM Band Switch [figure 1 #4] to BLINK/SIREN (the leftmost position).
  • For Siren, turn on the On/Off Volume Knob [figure 1 #3] to ON (clock wise until you hear a click).
  • To vary pitch adjust On/Off Volume Knob [figure 1 #3].

POWER & CHARGING INSTRUCTIONS
  • The Wonder-Lite® can be charged in any position of the Function Switch [figure 2 #5], but not position 3•CHARGE OUT [figure 2 #C].     (Position 3•CHARGE OUT [figure 2 #C] will only charge out through the Charge Out Jack [figure 3 #10], not the internal cells.).
  • When Wonder-Lite® is charging the Green LED Light is on [figure 2 #8].
  • See Sleep Mode (See Below) in Care & Maintenance (See Below).

  • By Hand Crank (Dynamo)
  • To charge internal cells, slide the Function Switch [figure 2 #5] to any position, but not position 3•CHARGE OUT [figure 2 #C].     (Position 3•CHARGE OUT [figure 2 #C] will only charge out through the Charge Out Jack [figure 3 #10], not the internal cells.).
  • Fold Dynamo Crank [figures 1&3 #6] handle up and snap into full upright position. Start and stop in a smooth moderate speed to prevent damage to the gear box. Wind the crank clockwise. If you crank 3 minutes this will generate enough power to play the radio for about 20 minutes.

  • By “D” Batteries (Only as backup Power as Last Resort).
  • Open Battery Housing Cover [figure 4 #12], install 3 “D” batteries into the battery compartment and make sure the polarities are correct{as shown in diagram in battery compartment}. Battery Housing Cover [figure 4 #12] can be opened by turning the knob to the unlocked position. Replace Battery Housing Cover [figure 4 #12] and turn knob back to LOCK.
  • If you install batteries the unit will use your own batteries power at the same time as your internal built-in cells.

  • By AC/DC or Car Charging
    • Use only approved SunStar’s AC/DC or Car Wonder-Lite® adapter (for ordering optional AC/DC or Car adapter contact SunStar® or see your local dealer).
  • {Radio can be listened to while AC/DC or Car charging. However, it takes longer to fully charge}.
  • To charge internal cells, slide the Function Switch [figure 2 #5] to any position, but not position 3•CHARGE OUT [figure 5 #C].     (Position 3•CHARGE OUT [figure 5 #C] will only charge out through the Charge Out Jack [figure 3 #10], not the internal cells.).
  • By AC/DC - Plug AC/DC adapter into the wall,   OR    By Car Adapter - Plug Car Adapter into car.
  • Then connect the other end of adapter to the AC/DC In & Out Jack [figure 3 #11] on the back of the Wonder-Lite®, charge 8-10 Hours. {Be sure to plug into the jack toward the end which is marked DC In 6V. Plugging into the top earphone jack may cause permanent damage to the Wonder-Lite®.} Do not charge more than 12 hours.

  • Charge Out (from Crank Power to other devices)
  • Make sure the device you are charging matches the power out (4.2volts DC w/positive center).
  • Slide Function Switch [figure 2 #5] to position 3•CHARGE OUT [figure 5 #C].
  • Use the Charge Out Jack [figure 3 #10], you will need to provide your own cord and plugs. (This is up to you to make work, with your own dealer.)
  • Make sure your device is in charge mode & crank clockwise carefully, while checking your device is charging correctly. If not-make any necessary adjustments. Then crank with even steady cranks until your device is fully charged.
  • Then unplug both ends.
  • USE AT YOUR OWN RISK-SunStar® & its’ dealers can’t be held responsible for any loss or damage due to the use of the charge out feature or any other uses of these products.



  • CARE AND MAINTENANCE
  • Never use solvents containing benzol or petroleum for cleaning the Wonder-Lite®. Wipe off dust and stains with a soft damp cloth.
  • Take out the back up batteries if the Wonder-Lite® is not used for a long time.
  • Exposure to temperature over 170oF (80oC) may damage the plastic case. {Never put Wonder-Lite® in car window. The sun through a car window is GREATLY MAGNIFIED and is too HOT!!!}
  • To change rechargeable cells, open Battery Housing Cover [figure 4 #12] by turning the knob to UNLOCK. Then open inner housing cover, by sliding out. Replace cell pack by unplugging then replace inner cover by sliding back & replace the Battery Housing Cover [figure 4 #12] by turning the knob to LOCK. Use only approved SunStar’s Cell Pack (for ordering optional cell pack, contact SunStar® or see your local dealer).

  • Sleep Mode
  • If sound, flashlight or the Red LED Lights{Low Power Indicator} [figure 2 #9] becomes weak or dim, this is an indication that the built-in batteries are discharged and must be recharged before further use. Further use could cause the Wonder-Lite® to go into a sleep mode.
  • To bring Wonder-Lite® out of a sleep mode it will take 3-4 times longer to recharge & must be charged with AC or Car Adapter {or sometimes Dynamo will also work}. Use only approved SunStar’s Wonder-Lite® AC/DC or Car adapters (for ordering optional AC/DC or Car adapters contact SunStar® or see your local dealer).
